PSJA ISD School Board approves pay raises, retention stipend for all full-time employees
PHARR – Committed to continue providing a competitive compensation plan for all employees, the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD (PSJA ISD) Board of Trustees approved pay raises and retention stipends for the 2022-2023 school year during a school board meeting held Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022.
Through efficiency efforts by the Superintendent and Administration and the support of professional teacher/employee organizations, the following salary increases were approved by the PSJA ISD School Board of Trustees:
A 3% ($1,725) increase for Teachers, Librarians & Nurses
A 3% increase from midpoint for all other full-time employees
$4,500 one-time retention stipend for all teachers and librarians to be paid in August 2022
$4,000 one-time retention stipend for all other employees to be paid in August 2022
"We just want our staff to know that we appreciate all the hard work and dedication they do for our students and PSJA Family,” said School Board President Rick Pedraza. “Thank you to our School Board of Trustees and Administration for balancing our budget while ensuring our employees receive a considerable and highly competitive raise."
Compensation increases for teachers will continue to make PSJA ISD’s starting pay for teachers among the best in the region. Additionally, PSJA ISD will continue to pay 100% of healthcare base plan costs for all employees.
