More than 70 PSJA ISD students receive Associate Degrees a semester before their High School graduation

PHARR - A total of 74 Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD 12th grade students were named candidates for Associate Degrees and Industry Certificates for South Texas College’s (STC) 2021 Fall Commencement Ceremony held Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021. 

   

Congratulations to our students for such tremendous accomplishment,” said PSJA Superintendent Dr. Jorge L. Arredondo. “Thank you to our team for supporting our students through this journey and our higher education partner South Texas College for working with us to offer these life-changing opportunities.”  

  

Candidates from PSJA ISD’s Early College Program earned Associate Degrees and received industry certificates in various fields including Biology, Criminal Justice, Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering, and Interdisciplinary Studies, to name a few.       

   

As a tri-city public school district offering a pre-kindergarten through 12th grade curriculum, PSJA caters to a 32,000-student body and is focused on preparing all students to succeed in today’s global society.   

     

Through partnerships with South Texas College and other higher education leaders, more than 3,500 PSJA ISD high school students are enrolled in college courses each semester through the district's nationally recognized Early College Program
