PSJA School Board continues plans to focus on improving student outcomes through Lone Star Governance preparation
The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD School Board will continue their involvement in Lone Star Governance, a statewide training initiative founded on research for the continuous-improvement model of public boards, focusing on the primary objective of improving student outcomes.
As part of this work, PSJA Trustees identified objectives they wish to pursue collectively, such as: Refreshing the Student Outcome Goals; Adopting a Lone Star Governance Implementation Calendar; Receiving a Lone Star Governance Coaches Review of past board meetings; Creating a Progress Monitoring Calendar for Goal Attainment Metrics; Developing and Approving Board Operating Procedures and Refreshing training on Robert’s Rules of Order.
This plan, to commence in January 2022, reaffirms their commitment to the district’s vision of ensuring every student is prepared to participate, compete, and excel in a global society to foster multi-generational prosperity.
The PSJA School Board recognizes the value of working together in achieving PSJA’s strategic direction, while committing to the district’s mission of building on the legacy of academic excellence at PSJA ISD, its renowned college and career readiness, biliteracy and extracurricular programs, and multicultural heritage to ensure every student achieves at the highest level.
