PSJA ISD UPDATE - March 22, 2020

A top priority of our district and board is to provide a safe, learning environment and to safeguard the health of our students and employees. We appreciate your dedication, patience and understanding. As you are aware, Governor Greg Abbott made a State Health Disaster declaration, which closes schools in the State of Texas through April 3rd. The leadership team and I are putting your health and safety above all else.

Please know teachers and staff are not required to report to campus and department locations. Your supervisor will be contacting you about any essential responsibilities this week. All PSJA employees are requested to complete the following EMPLOYEE CORONAVIRUS SCREENING by Monday, March 23, 2020.

More information about safety behavior to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are available here. We will be providing information on our PSJA website, MyPSJA Employee Portal and District Email. Microsoft Teams is an additional resource that is available to all employees to meet remotely with your department teams.

The Office of Academics and Instructional Technology have created an online portal in support of student distance learning. More information is posted here. Google Classroom information as well as other resources are listed on this site.

All school campuses are closed, the only exception are essential staff with operational responsibilities. Supervisors will be contacting essential staff on these responsibilities.

We appreciate you supporting us as we put health and safety above all else for our students, families and employees. We are strong and resilient and value your care and professionalism in our shared mission at PSJA ISD. Please remain informed through our communication channels, and I wish you good health, safety and wellness.

Respectfully,

Dr. Jorge L. Arredondo

PSJA ISD Superintendent
