A group of athletes in the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD (PSJA) Swim team placed among the top 15 teams in the nation at the AUU Junior Olympic Games in Detroit, Michigan earlier this year.
Since its beginning in Washington, D.C., the AAU Junior Olympic Games have been conducted in 19 states and 30 cities across the United States. The competition is known as the largest national multi-sport event for youth in the United States.
The team membersinclude: Ashley Buenrostro, Ariana Bravo, Anyssa Bravo and Jose Bravo from PSJA North ECHS; Jordan Davila from PSJA Early College High School; and Jose Salas from Escalante Middle School. They are under the direction of PSJA Director of Aquatics Jonathan Landero.
