US Army Private Gabriel Ramirez surprised his little girl at school today, after months of being away for training. As soon as she saw him, she ran toward him with open arms and held him tight. 

His wife Ruth Ramirez contacted the school to coordinate the surprise for their 5-year-old daughter Gabriella, a PSJA ISD kinder student at Dr. Long Elementary in Pharr. 

The parents, both PSJA North High School alumni and high school sweethearts, were appreciative of the school helping them plan the surprise. Private Ramirez had not met his newborn or seen Gabriella since April of this year.

Witnessing her daughter's reaction as he walked into the classroom brought Ruth to tears.  

"PSJA is where our love story began 10 years ago," she shared. "We're so grateful to the district for helping us plan this moment. PSJA is home and family to us."
