  • Over 40 PSJA ISD seniors, first-generation college students named 2019 Regent Scholars

    Forty-three seniors and future first-generation college students from all five Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD (PSJA ISD) high schools have been named 2019 Regent Scholars and awarded 4-year $5,000 ($20,000) scholarships to complete their post-secondary education.

  • PSJA ISD JROTC programs ranked among 'Best in State'

    The PSJA Early College High School Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) Bear Battalion was recognized by district officials for earning the Honor Unit with Distinction designation after passing a rigorous inspection by the US Army Junior ROTC. With this Gold Star rating, the PSJA Bear JROTC is now the fourth high school program in PSJA ISD to be ranked among the best in the region and state.

  • PSJA ISD, UTRGV recognize nearly a dozen parents for completing national leadership program

    PSJA ISD in partnership with the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) and the Little Explores Montessori Institute (LEMI) recently recognized 11 PSJA Early Head Start parents for completing the Abriendo Puertas/Opening Doors leadership program at PSJA T. Jefferson T-STEM Early College High School on Monday, April 15, 2019.

    PSJA North Early College High School Seniors, Richard Hernandez and Roxxy Garcia, were recently named recipients of the prestigious Terry Scholarship. They will each receive scholarships of up to $20,000 to complete their post-secondary education for up to eight semesters.

  • PSJA ISD alumnus presents scientific research on cattle fever ticks on behalf of USDA in Washington, D.C.

    Ernesto Reyes, a PSJA North High School Class of 2010 alumnus and current South Texas College student, recently presented on behalf of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and STC about his research focused on nematodes for control of cattle fever ticks in the Rio Grande Valley.

  • PSJA Athlete named Powerlifting State Champion, district well represented at meet

    PSJA Memorial Early College High School Senior Athlete Victoria Treviño became her school's first Powerlifting State Champion in the 165lb weight class of the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association State Meet held in Waco on March 16. Seventeen other female athletes competed and placed at the State competition in their divisions.
