  • TEENS FOR JEANS DRIVE

    The PSJA Early College High School along with the Interact club is participating in the Teens for Jeans drive. Thank you to all the staff , students and especially our BEAR FAMILY (PARENTS) for all your support in donating jeans. All used or new jeans will be donated to local charities. We currently stand at 2313 jeans and need help to overtake 1st place. You can help the school by bringing your used/new jeans of any size to the front office by tomorrow, Friday February 28 before 4:00 pm!!!

  • Congressional Certificate of Achievement by US Representative Vicente Gonzalez.

    Caden Karr, who recently earned a chair in the prestigious Texas All-State Band recieved special recognition from the United States Congress today. Caden was given a Congressional Certificate of Achievement by US Representative Vicente Gonzalez. Caden is a proud member of the Mighty Bear Band and under the instruction of Mrs. Amanda Perea. Caden will perform in San Antonio at the TMEA music convention on Feburary 15th. Congratulations Caden.#PSJAProud

  • BEARETTES 1ST RUNNER UP

    A huge congratulations to the PSJA Bearettes who competed this weekend at the American Dance and Drill Team Contest at South Padre Island. The PSJA Bearettes received sweepstakes and platinum ratings in all Officer routines and team routines.The Wow factor award for their team Lyrical and Judge’s awards for all team and officer routines . The Bearettes competed in the medium class division and received 1st runner up in team and officer. Out of 22 teams that attends the contest the Bearettes came in 2nd runner up in officer routines and 3rd runner up in team.

  • LADY BEARS DISTRICT CHAMPS 3 YEARS IN A ROW!!!

    Congratulations PSJA BEARS girls swim team on winning their third District 31-6A title in a row. The Boys swim team came a close second place. Next weekend we will travel to Brownsville to attend Region VIII 6A Swimming & Diving Championships.

    Congratulations to our BEAR Mariachi for earning a Superior Division 1 rating at today's UIL Mariachi Contest! Mariachi Maravilla de San Juan advances to the State level and will be performing at the UIL State Mariachi Festival at UTRGV, February 22nd. GO BEARS!!

  • Texas All-State Band

    What an honor!! Congratulations Caden Andrius Karr. Caden is a member of the PSJA Mighty Bear Band he will perform with the Texas All-State Band in San Antonio, Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Henry B. González Convention Center as part of the 2020 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention. Caden was chosen for this prestigious honor through a competitive process held this year across the state at District, Region, and Area levels. This is Caden’s first time to perform as a member of a TMEA All-State organization. Caden is the son of Adrian Karr and Christina Telles. High school students selected to perform in the All-State concerts have competed through auditions to qualify at the state level. All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can achieve.

  • Swimming & Diving Team Tri City Champions

    Congratulations to our PSJA Bears Swimming & Diving Team on becoming overall Tri City Champions for the third year in a row. The Lady Bears achieved the Three Peat while the boys came a close second place. Notable Individual and relay champions included: Robert Allen 100 Butterfly Natalie Bravo 50 Freestyle & Relays Carina Campos 200 Individual Medley, 100 Backstroke & Relays. Carlo Carranza 100 Backstroke Julio Gómez 1 Meter Diving Micaela Gonzalez Relays Destanee Mata 1 Meter Diving Isela Ruiz 100 Butterfly & Relays Valeria Sifuentes Relays Audrey Trevino Relays Our District Championship will be held at the Pharr Aquatic Center. The Diving portion will be Friday January 24th, 2020 and Swimming on Saturday January 25th. Please come out and support. GO BEARS!!!!

  • JOSE 'JOE' VELA ALUMNI CLASS OF 2019

    Jose "Joe" Vela is a class of 2019 PSJA HS alumni and is continuing his musical career as a Music Studies major at Texas State University under Dr. Keith Winking. He is a part of many ensembles, such as the Texas State Jazz Lab Band, Bobcat Marching Band, Ceremonial Brass Ensemble, the Texas State Wind Symphony, and the Texas State Symphony Orchestra. He also will be representing the Texas State University Trumpet Studio this spring in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania at the National Trumpet Contest where he and 4 others in a quintet will compete in the small ensemble division. Jose recently auditioned for the spring semester concert ensembles and is the Principal Trumpet(1st chair) of the Symphony Orchestra and the Co-Principal(section leader) of the Wind Symphony starting this spring. #PSJAProud
