About the PSJA Education Foundation

The PSJA Education Foundation is an independent non-profit organization that promotes excellence in education by developing and sustaining financial and non-financial support from the private sector to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD students and staff. The Foundation was founded in 2013 by a group of citizens that believe education is the key to a bright future.
MISSION & PURPOSE
The PSJA Education Foundation is dedicated to providing funds for charitable and educational purposes to students and staff of the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District.
Each year, the Foundation will award competitive Teacher Mini Grants to provide teachers with resources to develop creative classroom projects. In addition, Scholarships will be awarded to district students to encourage them to continue to go to college in line with the District’s overall goal of graduating all students College Ready, College Connected and College Complete.
GOALS
To provide scholarships to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD graduates and assist them with their higher education expenses.
To provide teacher grants that will promote student achievement and excellence through the funding of innovative and creative educational programs and activities.
Ensure the perpetuity of the Foundation by observing prudent fiscal policies.
Build community awareness of the PSJA Education Foundation.
Secure financial contributions from local businesses, individuals and corporations through a variety of methods and activities.
Promote a collaborative effort between corporate, community and education interests.

PSJA Education Foundation awards $384,000 in scholarships, grants
A total of 146 scholarships were awarded to PSJA ISD graduating seniors totaling $329,000 and $40,000 were distributed to teachers through 47 mini-grants, with a $15,000 grant awarded to the PSJA Library Services Department for district-level literacy programs.
