Our TITAN Students seek out opportunities to learn outside the classroom and apply for summer internships.  They gain real-world experience and practice important workplace skills.

Adolfo Garcia, Jr.

12th Grade Student at Thomas Jefferson T-STEM ECHS PSJA-ISD

Adolfo applied and was selected to intern Summer 2017 at Texas Plant Soil Lab in Edinburg, Texas. His duties were to understand the methods and processes in the science of soil testing. He interned as a lab technician and studied soil samples. He also had the opportunity to work with the atomic absorption machines and other equipment to collect data in the soil. This experience led him to develop a deep interest in soil testing and its Impact in the agricultural community. He maintained contact with the lab and interned over the Thanksgiving break. Adolfo is a Chemistry major and will graduate with an Associates degree in May 2018 from South Texas College.
