PSJA ECHS Library connecting with the community ..........

    heb

H-E-B launched a statewide literacy program called Read 3 in 2011. This program focuses on educating parents about the need to read to their children a minimum of three times per week. H-E-B's goal is to empower Texas families with the tools and resources they need to prepare early learners ensuring that all children have the opportunity to start their school experience with an equal opportunity to succeed. PSJA ECHS students connected with HEB to help spread awareness in children's literacy by reading during class time. Thank you teachers for all your support in helping spread the importance of reading.

    H-E-B Book Drive

During the 1st six weeks of school students at PSJA ECHS participated in the H-E-B Texas-Size Book Drive. PSJA Early College High School students donated over 800 books to HEB to help promote the importance of reading.

    inside books project

Inside Books Project is a community service volunteer organization that sends free books and educational materials to prisoners in Texas. PSJA ECHS Library donates books to help promote reading, literacy, and education among incarcerated individuals. Students Maria Tabarrez and Diana Karina Rodriguez assist in the library to gather donated books.

    Writing a good research paper

So many students walk into the library to work on a research paper and yet have no idea where to search the internet for the correct resources that offer valid research and insight within the topic. Using a search engine and picking the top three results isn’t necessarily the best methods of researching. Our students need to use critical thinking to thoroughly read every source and determine if it is legitimate. Teachers, if you are planning to assign a research paper, an essay or just an assignment and your students need to search the internet; we have just the perfect websites for them. Stop by the library to reserve the lab for your students in order to get the proper training on how to use our databases.
