Statement of Safety Policy
The health and well being of every employee, student, and visitor to the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo School District is of vital importance. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD will strive to protect the health, safety and security of all employees, students and visitors using accepted and feasible policies, procedures, operations, and technologies. Further, the District shall comply with all occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Our most important resource is our employees. To protect this resource, we are committed to providing a safe and healthful work place for all employees by establishing and maintaining an effective safety and health program. We consider safety and health to be a fundamental part of our organization's operations.
The responsibility of safety resides within each of us. We are each challenged to stay informed and take responsibility for our own safety and the safety of our co-workers. To ensure the success of our safety and health process, we must all give our full participation and support to the safety policies and procedures that have been developed to protect us. Working safety and in accordance with established safety policies is an absolute requirement for all employees, supervisors and managers.
Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
FMLA is provided to employees who have worked for the district at least one year, and for 1,250 hours over the previous 12 months for certain family and medical reasons.

Worker's Compensation Insurance
Insurance that protects employees in the event of work-related injuries. An employee who suffers an on the job injury must notify the employer no later than the 30th day after the date on which the injury occurs or the date the employee knew or should have known of the injury.
