Our PSJA ISD School Board and Administration are pleased to announce the approval of PSJA ISD's Attendance Matters Incentive during a regular school board meeting held on December 18, 2023. The new incentive aims to improve student academic performance through the daily attendance of both students and staff.
Reducing chronic absence improves graduation rates, increases academic achievement, and gives our students the best chance at success in their adult life. Of course, all members of the PSJA Family need to be present daily to teach and support their learning.
The Attendance Matters Incentive details are as follows:

Must be a full-time PSJA ISD employee working as of January 8, 2024

Attendance for Spring semester dates will range from January 9, 2024, through June 7, 2024

The incentive will be paid by the end of June 2024
SCHOOL EMPLOYEES
All full-time employees working at a PSJA ISD school are eligible for the incentive based on the assigned school spring semester overall student attendance percentage (no rounding up):
- 95%+ $500
- 94% $250
- 93% $200
- 92% $150
- 91% $100
Schools with the best student attendance percentages can earn a $500 check for student incentives every Six Weeks and a celebratory banner.
ALL FULL-TIME PSJA ISD EMPLOYEES
In addition, all full-time PSJA ISD employees can earn up to $300 based on personal attendance.
- 100% Attendance $300
- 1 Absence $250
- 2 Absence $200
- 3 Absence $150
- 4 Absence $100
- 5+ Absence not eligible
As a result, all campus staff may earn up to $800 based on the campus student attendance percentage (up to $500) and personal attendance (up to $300). All other eligible full-time employees may earn up to $300.
Our School Board and Administration appreciate your commitment to attendance as it directly contributes to positive and thriving learning environments. Funding for this employee incentive is possible thanks to the recent passing of the Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election in the November 2023 ballot. We appreciate the ongoing trust and support from our stakeholders and communities.
