Purpose

Our responsibility is to provide campuses with support and guidance in accordance with the mandates of federal and state laws.
The Title I/SCE staff is committed to collaborate with district staff to ensure that resources are used to promote high achievement by every student.

Title I Notice

Title I: Part A
Title I, Part A provides supplemental funding for resources to help schools with a high concentration of students from low-income families provide a high-quality education that enables all children to meet the state’s academic performance standards. The Title I program uses effective methods and instructional strategies that are grounded in scientifically based research. The Title I, Part A school-wide program allows schools with 40% of the student population from low-income homes to use funds to upgrade the entire educational program of the school.

Title II, Part A
Title II, Part A provides supplemental funding to improve student achievement. Title II funds are used to elevate teacher and principal quality through recruitment, hiring, and retention strategies. Title II funds are also used to increase the number of highly qualified teachers, highly qualified principals, and highly qualified assistant principals. Title II uses scientifically based professional development interventions and holds districts and schools accountable for improvement in student academic performance.

State Compensatory Education

The intent and purpose of the SCE program is to increase the academic achievement of at-risk students and reduce the dropout rate of students meeting the state defined “at risk” eligibility criteria. SCE funds are supplemental and are used to provide intensive accelerated instructional services to identified students to help reduce any disparity in performance on assessment and to reduce/eliminate any disparity in the rate of high school completion between students identified as “ at risk” and all other district students.
