Community Challenge

About the Challenge!

As part of our PSJA Family Health & Wellness initiative, PSJA ISD in collaboration with the cities of Pharr, San Juan, and Alamo is once again taking on the annual Community Challenge Powered by  Healthier Texas. The fun 8-week competition unites and mobilizes schools, businesses, organizations, community members, and mayors toward the common goal of transforming their community’s health. This year the Challenge will be taking place from Jan. 13 through March 9 , 2025.

PSJA ISD has engaged in the statewide competition for several years now, earning 1st place in the large school district category consecutively in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022,  2023, and 2024. 

The Challenge is a great opportunity to grow even closer as a school/district family, plus it helps us make healthy choices and teach our students to do the same. 

How to participate:

1. Register at https://register.txcommunitychallenge.org/ now until March 9, 2025. Make sure to click YES to School District Challenge (select Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD)and include the name of your school. 
2. Download the It's Time Texas app on your mobile device (Click here for iOS or Android). 
3. Earn points by logging your physical activity, uploading selfies, and organizing staff healthy group activities, and more. 
   • Take the Partner Pledge or Community Member Pledge
   • Get your family and friends to also register for the Challenge!
