Tell us your story! What hardships or challenges have you overcome to get to where you are today? How have these experiences motivated you to pursue your educational dreams?
My whole life I've always struggled to balance my extracurriculars with my academics. I've cheered competitively for the past fourteen years and have found practices along with competitions taking up most of my time. On top of doing cheer, I always tried my best to participate in school clubs and sports such as National Honor Society, school cheer, and track and field. While it's been a lot to juggle mentally and physically, I've tried my best to keep a positive attitude and have a great support system helping me along the way. My perseverance in maintaining that balance between school and extracurriculars can help me deal with the transition between high school and college. Along with that, I feel confident in my multitasking skills as they'll help me with my future career as well.
How have the opportunities offered at PSJA ISD, including the PSJA Early College Program, impacted your life?
PSJA has been by my side for the past fourteen years and has helped me become the person I am today. I've been able to pursue multiple clubs and learn about a variety of things because of PSJA. I have also connected with an amazing community and found a support system that I'll remember for the rest of my life. Thanks to their Early College Program, I will be able to skip the prerequisite courses and begin my major-related coursework before entering college. Without PSJA, I would not be where I am now, and I will always be thankful for them.
What, if anything, would you say to your PSJA Family?
To my PSJA Family, I would say that I am incredibly grateful for the support and opportunities that PSJA ISD has provided. The experiences and education I received have shaped me into the person I am today. Thank you!
