What are your goals and aspirations?
I hope to attend Harvard University where I will study for a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. After my schooling, I hope to become a cardiothoracic surgeon and a scientific researcher. Graduating from college with honors has always been a true goal of mine since my parents weren't able to attend college. Some later aspirations of mine are to continue my education by obtaining a MD degree and a PhD degree.
Awards/Honors
President's Honor Roll; 4th Place HOSA Conference; Questbridge National College Prep Scholar; who's Who Among Students in American Universities; Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society; and National Society of High School Scholars.
How was your Early College experience?
PSJA Early College has given me opportunities not every high school student in the country has. The ability to complete an Associate's degree while completing high school is an amazing opportunity I am very thankful for. In addition, it has provided me the opportunity to be a part of summer programs that I would not have been able to afford alone. PSJA Early College has helped me shine through all these amazing opportunities.
What would you say to your PSJA Family?
Words cannot describe how thankful I am to the staff and administration that make up my PSJA family. And I would like to thank one of my guidance counselors, Miss Salinas, and my AP Biology teacher, Miss Valencia. These two people have been there for me since the start and I couldn't have accomplished everything I have without these two wonderful and strong women. From the very bottom of my heart, thank you.
What would be your message for underclassmen?
I had a late start in the Early College program compared to other students in my grade, so my advice is to start early on in high school. The eagerness and ambition most freshman have is enough to help them through this challenge. By starting early, it will help you finish early and relieve you of stress in your later years of high school. Your education is the most important thing in high school, but try to also make time to be a teenager.
