Associate Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from South Texas College

Plans to Attend: The University of Houston

What are your goals and aspirations?
My ultimate goal is to become a doctor to help aid people in my community. I plan on helping children with chronic illnesses that aren't seen by the "naked eye" and give a voice to those that suffer in silence. I want to encourage young adults that even though they are in pain, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

How was your Early College experience?
My experience at PSJA has been filled with hard-working teachers that tell us we are able to accomplish anything we want, long lasting friends and a strong foundation in academics that will guide us through the long road ahead of us. Being apart of PSJA since Pre-Kinder all the way to my Senior year has given me a sense of safety and family, letting me know that I am always welcomed no matter the struggles. PSJA was my second home and I will forever have gratitude towards this strong family.

What would you say to your PSJA Family?
Thank you! Thank you for encouraging me to continue my education. When the tunnel was so dark I would have rather turned around, PSJA was that light in my life. Thank you, for making me feel accepted and hearing my voice when I had concerns and hardships. PSJA, you helped shape the person I am today, I know that if I want something, I have the strength and mind to accomplish all of my goals. A million times over, thank you!

What would be your message for underclassmen?
Underclassmen, if you want something, do not be afraid to go and get it. You have help, you have people cheering for you even if you can't see them and everyone wants you to succeed and be the best version of yourself. There is not only stars that you can reach for, but an entire galaxy! Don't be ashamed to ask for help. All these amazing teachers, administrators, and classmates are there to help you and make you understand that the world is full of amazing opportunities if you want them. Take advantage of every resource that is available and always remember PSJA has your back and you are loved.
