$360,000 awarded in scholarships for 2017-18 school year

  • The PSJA Education Foundation aims to provide scholarships to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD graduates to assist them with their higher education expenses. Since its creation, the Foundation has awarded more than $1,140,000 in scholarships and grants.

    For the 2017-18 school year, the Foundation gave $320,000 in student scholarships. Additionally, four 4-year $2,500 scholarships, fourteen 4-year $1,500 scholarships, and 104 one-time $1,000 scholarships were awarded to the top rated applicants.

    Lastly, this spring the PSJA Education Foundation awarded its first 4-year $4,000 Joel “Joey” Gonzalez Presidential Scholarship to the top applicant at each of the five PSJA ISD high schools.
