Project Health Education and Leadership for ALL (HEAL2), a collaborative effort between Region One Education Service Center, Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance (DHR), South Texas College, PSJA ISD and 2 neighboring school districts. 

The goal of Project HEAL2 is to increase the Health-integrated (STEM-design) Nursing competencies of under-represented students, specifically students from minority backgrounds through creativity, innovation, and engagement activities that promote diversity in education by creating a culturally diverse Nursing Workforce pipeline prepared for the 21^stcentury and beyond.  

For students at all PSJA ISD High Schools in grades 9^ththrough 12^th Interested students must apply their 10th grade year.

*Please note applicants must be enrolled at a PSJA ISD High School. If you are not a current PSJA ISD student, but wish to enroll for next school year, please call 354-2084.

When should my child apply?

Students may apply during the spring semester. Project HEAL2 has programs available for students at all grade levels.

Does my child have to leave his home high school to participate?

No. PSJA students will continue to attend their home high school and will only travel to the Academies' site for designated hours for Project HEAL2 coursework.

What are some of the services provided if my child is enrolled in the Academies?

Students enrolled in Project HEAL2 will have additional hands-on learning in the medical field. Students enrolled will also be part of: College Tours, Cybermentoring, Simulation Labs & Workshops, CPR Certification, Learn from Guest Speakers, will receive assistance as they Transition to the University and more...

Will transportation to the PSJA Collegiate Academies be available?

Yes. Transportation to and from home high school campus will be provided for all students who participate in Project HEAL2.
