  • Theatre department wins big!!

The PSJA Southwest Theatre Dept. won big at the Austin Anderson TFA Tournament held in Austin Tx on Sept. 27. Against some stiff competition around the Austin/San Antonio area, students from Southwest Theatre held their own in various acting events from Duet to Humorous and Dramatic. Rosario Guillen and Natalie Di Grazia placed 1st in Duo Acting qualifying them to TFA State held in El Paso Texas March 4-7. In only our second Tournament of the season, this is the fastest any student has ever qualified to TFA State! Rosario Guillen also placed 5th in Humorous Acting (4 points away to qualify to State in Humorous), while Mary Arellano placed 7th in Dramatic Acting (only 6 points away to qualify to State) with Julie Reed also placing 6th in Poetry. A huge congratulations to all PSJA Southwest Theatre students who competed at the Austin Anderson TFA Tounrament!
