More than 400 parents in the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo School District took the Volunteer Oath during the National Parent Engagement Day 2015 ceremony held Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the City of Pharr’s Pepe Salinas Convention Center.
As part of Generation Texas (GenTX) week events, about 40 seniors at three Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD high schools received on-the-spot admissions and 34 of them were awarded scholarships from St. Mary’s University on Monday, Nov. 16.
Thanks to the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, hundreds of students at the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Buell Central DAEP High School will be reading new library books purchased with a $3,000 Youth Literacy Grant awarded on Sept. 17, 2015.

As part of the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD pre-conference events during the 2nd Annual PSJA "College for All" Conference, leaders of the Greater Texas Foundation held a meeting to discuss the importance of helping ensure that all Texas students are prepared and have access to a postsecondary education. The meeting was held at the PSJA's LBJ Middle School Library on Nov. 4.
